Now Playing: School Lunch!
The 2020 National School Lunch Week theme Now Playing: School Lunch! put a spotlight on nutritious and delicious menu items that student love. Whether school districts celebrated with fun messages and activities included in curbside pick-up lunch bags or created immersive and socially-distanced red carpets in their cafeteria, school nutrition staff took the effort during this unique school year.
Volusia County School District (FL) went as far as to create their very own movie trailer about NSLW 2020! Check out the creative School Way Cafe Production:
Offering school meals from their mobile carts, Clark County School District (NV) enthusiastically decorated each cart with a different movie theme. Notable favorites included Pirates of the Caribbean, Coco and Cloudy with Chance of Meatballs carts.

Garland Independent School District (TX) created a new ultra creative lunch menu that is healthy, delicious and movie-themed! Nothing says the movies quite like movie popcorn. Garland school nutrition professionals came up with Veggie Pop, a roasted cauliflower version of the theater treat.

Red carpet photos and VIP serving lines were also a hit among students celebrating NSLW this year. Southeast Polk Community Schools (IA) created a fun VIP stage door for students to enter as they went into the cafeteria and picked their lunch for the day. School nutrition professionals were featured on movie premiere red carpets in the cafeteria.
